Witness
Ruby Singh “Witness” Audio / Video 7 min 25 seconds.
Witness is an immersive audiovisual installation that employs data sonification, marine soundscapes, and visual storytelling to highlight the ecological impacts of colonialism and capitalism, with a focus on the oceans. The project transforms global ocean temperature data into an evolving soundscape, interwoven with the songs of humpback whales, orca echolocation clicks, and hydrophone recordings from the Comox Valley. Visually, it combines manipulated footage of kelp forests with NASA visualizations of ocean temperature rise and atmospheric carbon dioxide, culminating in the symbolic image of an eye—representing the act of witnessing. This multisensory narrative underscores the interconnectedness of human and more-than-human life, creating an emotional bridge between environmental data and the urgency for transformative action.
Mojuba
Ruby Singh "Mojuba" VR Experience 4 min 50 seconds.
Journey into the realm between worlds and hear the songs of your ancestors calling you back to your eternal home. Mojuba is a new take on a traditional Yoruban hymn, from Ruby Singh’s Vox.Infold, that guides those departing from the earthly plane across the cosmic river to join the council of elders in the afterlife. In this mixed reality experience we invite you to be transported by the light and interact with the cosmos as you leave your earthly body behind and adventure into the gateway awaiting us all.

Polyphonic garden
Ruby Singh "Polyphonic Garden" AV Installation / Performance 50min
Polyphonic Garden explores our relationship with this living, breathing and animate world. He created the album over the course of two years of travels to six biomes throughout so-called ‘british columbia’. The emerging melodies are then mixed with field recordings and unique instrumentation (tambura, mohan veena and fujara). Singh tempers keyboards with the songs of coastal wolves, orca, and birds (western screech owl, thrush, robin, song sparrow). To further deepen these sonic landscapes, the midi data of plants and fungi trigger the songs of their animal cohabitants: a Cottonwood tree triggers the call of the Song Sparrow that lives within its branches; bull kelp triggers the song of orcas. What emerges are complexly layered sonic ecologies of connection and wonder for the natural world, where Singh imagines how we might move towards right relations with these generous lands, waters and skies.
Vox.Infold
Ruby Singh’s "Vox.Infold II" Audio Video Performance / Installation 50min
Vox.Infold II explores life’s gateways with songs that welcome souls, mark earthly time, and honour outgoing spirits. The album reflects cyclical time, mirroring transitions between spirit, birth, life, death, and return to spirit. It opens with “Solar,” inviting spirits to return, and closes with “Mojuba,” a Vox.Infold version of a traditional Yoruban hymn sung by ancestors as we cross into the next world. The ensemble includesPIQSIQ’s Tiffany Ayalik and Inuksuk Mackay, Dawn Pemberton, Russell Wallace, Shamik Bilgi, Tiffany Moses, Hussein Janmohamed, and Singh. Together, they create a rich, resonant, and sensory expression of spiritual journeys through polyrhythm, polymeter, lush harmonies, and polyphonic poetry. Composition: Ruby Singh, Vocalists: Dawn Pemberton, Inuksuk MacKay, Ruby Singh, Russell Wallace, Shamik Bilgi, Tiffany Ayalik, Tiffany Moses, Khari Wendell McClelland.
